Two years ago I listened to a online podcast about the local band scene. I wasn't a devoted follower but I listened to a couple, it was interesting to me. I followed some of the guest hosts on Facebook, and even though the podcast is long over now, they are still much into the scene and update constantly on it. They get lots of fans.
At my work place a new person was hired, she kind of brought the idea of "small world" in my head, because she one of those podcast hosts. I would have never expected to meet her in person but here we go. One day I chatted her up and we talked about bands, music etc and mentioned her podcast. Next time I was on Facebook her feed came up, she mentioned someone over at work obsessed about her, and that she was surprised that I mentioned a podcast that has been long over. Not only that but she considered making her profile more private because of it.
I'm not sure why she would be surprised at that to be honest. The podcast had a strong fanbase, it's not something you would forget quickly if you were a fan and miss the "good old days" from it. But what could have made her think I would be too obsessed? Maybe she didn't know how famous she was and it suddenly caught up to her? Maybe she is flattering herself too much to think I would wanna go out with her, but there are some people that don't know how to deal with fame and maybe the got insecure for that reason.

Tc, I think that's the girl Greentreeclub saw at the gym 8 months ago. I think her feed update was referring to him :)

She loves attention. This is just a way for her to get more.

You stroked her ego, so what she did was blow it out of proportion to make herself out to be more important than she really is. Girls do that.

Walk right up to her and hand her some air freshner
When she asks what's it for simply say "I thought I'd give this to you because you obviously think your **** don't stink, but it obviously does."
That'll show her
