Hear me out. First off let's assume it happened just as the bible claims and Jesus was the savior of man and his death brought salvation for us all. Why then would the sky go dark and all that? Shouldn't there have been rainbows and angels singing to celebrate his wonderful sacrifice and accomplishment?
Am I making sense? If not I can try to clarify it. It just seems like it was a moment of ultimate triumph of good over evil and should have been a total celebration instead of what seems like a dark foreboding.
Angels were probable singing on the other side. And the salvation was more a spiritual one than a physical one. Besides, if God didn't cause the ground to shake and sky turn dark it would hardly have been as impressive...Hell, they'd just think "thats it?! Nothing? Guess he wasn't the son of God after all..."
