Nope, i take no chances, if another player comes into my house that i don't know, they die and i claim self defense.
On single player, every living thing i see that's not a villager or a tame wolf dies.

How do you ever get tame wolves, if you kill everything but tame wolves and villagers?
FernieODST - Its like watching two giraffes fight; It's completely life threatening and important to them, but viewed from an onlooker its just derpa derp derp.

Pretty much. I actually try to leave as little of a "footprint" as I can. For instance, if I chop down an oak tree, I make sure to plant an oak sapling in the same spot and if I make a spider hole for the night, I always put the dirt back in its place. Heck, I even try to avoid killing passive mobs unless I have a breeding pen established so I can replace what I took.
The last time I came back from deployment, my wife asked me "is that a Creeper in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"

I don't do pvp, never bother locking my doors (but do lock chests and furneces of course) always replant any trees/crops I take, usually leave passive mobs alone.
I do activly seek out and destroy hostile mobs though.
