|Do you ever wonder what the point of saving money is? (1) | Posted on Sept. 27, 2013, 3:34 p.m.|
|I was talking to an investor at my bank and we discussed all my options to save for retirement and just regular savings. After all this talking about how much money I'll put away and what I can expect in so many years, I wondered what I was saving for. I feel like I can't spend my money because I need to save. But if I can't spend it, what am I saving it for? A new car in the future? Seems like a waste. A new house? Eh, I would hate to think I'm paying all this money on rent just to spend my savings on another house. Retirement? That seems like the only logical reason but it's hard to think that I can't spend my money because I don't want to work when I'm older. Don't get me wrong. I still spend a good amount of money on myself and hobbies, I just wonder what other people do with savings besides retirement. I love traveling and vacationing, so perhaps that's what my savings will go towards...|

|Can't believe I forgot to say this but the biggest thing I hate is having to use a certain weapon to penetrate shields and a different weapon penetrate armor. I'm also pissed that I only get 10 shots with my sniper and ammo only gives me 1 bullet.|
|Played Mass Effect 1 twice and am now a few hours in Mass Effect 2. (6) | Posted on July 8, 2012, 6:59 a.m.|

|Played Mass Effect 1 twice and am now a few hours in Mass Effect 2. (5) | Posted on July 8, 2012, 6:57 a.m.|
ME2 improved the shooting in the sense that it's now on the level of an extremely generic and mediocre shooter. In doing so it completely gutted the RPG elements and the story is basically one huge recuiting mission.
I didn't really see a problem with the shooting element in the first place. It feels like the only thing that changed was the limited ammo vs overheating.
|Played Mass Effect 1 twice and am now a few hours in Mass Effect 2. (1) | Posted on July 8, 2012, 6:47 a.m.|
|I feel like Mass Effect 2 is a downgrade. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that ME2 came out first and then ME1 fixed it's issues. I enjoyed the upgrade system and weapons overheating in ME 1 compared the ME2's. I'm also not a fan of the pacing. ME1 felt very open and ME2 feels a bit more strict for some reason.|
I'm only about 4 hours in so maybe my opinion will change. How's ME3 compared to these two?
|Can any car buffs tell me if this is a decent deal? (5) | Posted on July 4, 2012, 1 p.m.|
Your first repair bill will cost more than the car
Couldn't imagine that being the case in Germany. Figure they'd be cheaper to repair since most people drive BMW's and VW's.
|Can any car buffs tell me if this is a decent deal? (3) | Posted on July 4, 2012, 12:52 p.m.|
pretty terrible idea to get that car if you don't want to spend tons of money
My bad, forgot to say I'm living in Germany and only want it for 3 years then plan on re-selling. I put it in my edit.
|Can any car buffs tell me if this is a decent deal? (1) | Posted on July 4, 2012, 12:51 p.m.|
It would be $3,500. I know it's hard to go off just those pictures and limited info, but what do you think? I test drove it and it drives smooth, seems like it has good power, and no leaks.
Forgot to mention that I'm living in Germany and plan on selling this in 3 years.
|Do only completed ME1 games carry over to ME2? (1) | Posted on June 30, 2012, 5:29 p.m.|
|Or can you carry over one that's mid-story? I'm waiting for ME2 to arrive and I'm thinking about playing ME1 on a harder difficulty but if ME2 arrives and I'm feeling bored of ME1, I'm curious if I should transfer over my higher level mid-story Shepard or my lower level game complete Shepard. If you are able to transfer a mid-story Shepard, do all of my actions from my first play through still count?|

|Why do PC users hate Mac users so much? (34) | Posted on June 30, 2012, 2:02 a.m.|
|What I don't think gets considered enough is quality. I've had a bad history with PC's. The first PC I purchased with my own money was a laptop about 7 years ago for around $1,200. It lasted about 1 year before the wi-fi stopped working on it. Didn't want to pay to get it fixed so I just used an ethernet cable.|
About 5 and a half years ago, I purchased a desktop PC for $800 including a monitor. After about a year, I kept getting this black start-up menu every time I launched. Took a decent amount of researching to figure out how to get past it. After that, every time I booted up, I had to navigate to run Windows in safe mode. I ended up giving that as a gift to my brother-in law who loves to try to fix computers but needed a new one because his broke down and couldn't afford another one.
4 and a half years ago, I decided to buy an iMac. Have had one issue with it so far. The hard drive died about 6 months ago. Replaced it myself and it's working fine. I've NEVER had another issue with this computer and to me, that's why I'll never buy another PC. I hadn't learned this lesson yet though when I first bought my iMac. About 6 months after buy my iMac, me and my wife wanted a laptop. Wasn't about to pay Apple's price again for another computer, so we bought a great reviewed laptop from Best Buy that was on sale for $500. Same story. Lasted about a year and the wi-fi no longer works on it. I haven't even bothered to fix it. It's a piece of junk.
Now I always had virus protection on yet my computers would still get infected. Before you go criticizing me for not being able to fix these problems myself because they're so simple, to me, I don't want to have to fix these problems myself. I know nothing about cars but I'm willing to pay a few more grand for a newer model to be less likely to have any issues with one. Computers work the same for me. I have the money and I'd rather pay a little extra to not have to worry about what's wrong why it's not working properly.
So if you want to make fun of people who can't fix their own computers or look down on them, you better be able to do all your own repairs on your vehicles and house before you say anything about someone being dumb or lazy for not fixing their computers.
|Why do PC users hate Mac users so much? (1) | Posted on June 29, 2012, 4:03 p.m.|
|Maybe it's just me, but whenever I bring up computer for some reason and that person is a PC user, they automatically look down on you for preferring a Mac. I know there are some Mac douche's too, but I only know one person who's like that and i know a good amount of people with Macs. PC users are relentless to prove why PC's are better. Why not just accept that someone prefers a different OS or whatever other reason they buy Apple? Why would me selling my Mac to buy a PC make you happier?|
|What's with the response choices and actual dialog in Mass Effect 1? (6) | Posted on June 29, 2012, 3:56 p.m.|
Shepard: "You made the right decision. If you hadn't closed that door, I'd be speaking to a corpse right now."
|What's with the response choices and actual dialog in Mass Effect 1? (3) | Posted on June 29, 2012, 3:44 p.m.|
I think they did it to make conversation sound better, which personally I think it works well. If John ran around just saying what the options are he'd sound like an idiot most times.
I agree that he needs a longer line than the optioned response, but the actual response RARELY even comes close to the line you chose. Even if you try to be harsh, he'll say something nice.
|Games that you love, but can't get yourself to play again. (1) | Posted on June 29, 2012, 3:42 p.m.|
|I'm not just talking about good games. I mean the best of the best, in your eyes. Some of your all time favorites, but you could only get yourself to do one run through even though you tried to play it again.|
Skyrim. Loved it for the entire 100+ hours I put into it. Haven't played it in months and I want to play it again, but every time I start a new character, I get bored.
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Didn't care for it at first and I was still upset that they strayed from the original, but I ended up having a blast. Was completely addicted to it. Now when I try to play it again, it's so boring and tedious.
I'm sure there's more but these are the only two off the top of my head.
|What's with the response choices and actual dialog in Mass Effect 1? (1) | Posted on June 29, 2012, 3:34 p.m.|
|Seems so random. If you pick something that says "Get out of my face", Shepard will respond "Enough chit chat. What's done is done." Great game so far, but is this a common complaint about this game?|

Ever since the first two came out, I was waiting so long for one to come out on the N64. I think they came out with one for Game Cube, but I had lost interest by then. Can't you turn of the marker? I recall there being such an option...
Exactly. It would require some investigative work. Same as if your headed to an abandoned vault to find some documents, you could try to find someone who's been there that can let you know it's in an old footlocker in the senior officer's quarters.
|Would Fallout be better if they didn't always tell you exactly where to go? (1) | Posted on June 24, 2012, 4:18 a.m.|
|Say you have to find somebody or something in a town, instead of always having a marker of their exact location, you just get a marker on your map of where the town is. This would force a little more exploring too when searching abandoned vaults for an item. No in and out missions.|

|I'm 27 and have been gaming since I can remember. Once I hit my early 20's, I've gone through many phases where I stop gaming then suddenly become hardcore again. About a year ago, I got really big into it again but in the past few months, I've lost most interest again. I played Skyrim for over 100 hours and loved it. I re-visited New Vegas and probably put in around 30 hours this time then decided to move on. Since then, I've just been playing a little MW3 here and there and I want to play more, but any game I try, I feel like I'm wasting my time. While playing, I can only think, I should be trying to learn Spanish right now or I should take some more classes but I just feel so lazy. LOL, this is turning into BlogFAQs. Anyways, /blog|

|My biggest is Mario Galaxy. I've tried playing 3 different times over the past few years and I just can't stand it. I hear so much praise about that that after a year or so, I figure I just didn't give it a fair shot, so I try it again but then remember why I hated it so much to begin with.|
Mass Effect is my most recent one. I played it about a year after it came out and just couldn't get into it. I didn't hate it, I was just bored. I only played about an hour or two before I lost interest. I recently decided to give it another shot and I'm a little further than last time, but I still can't get into it. It's not that it's a bad game, it's just not appealing.
