I don't think it'd be worth the time and effort. I could always just add a single letter or something.
Nope, these 13 year old internet warriors will do everything in their power to fight you. I have to wonder how they persist even though you blatantly shrug literally everything off.

|PS: I'm sure there are a ton of newbies who think sentries are overpowered because they don't know how to counter them. Auto aim, rockets, borderline invincible if the engineer is near it? So broken.|
Run these tips by a complete newbie and see how much they appreciate them. At least I can put myself in the shoes of somebody who's brand new and totally clueless about this game.
Although I have to admit, the "sentries are immobile" part is technically inaccurate and kinda silly. Regardless stop jumping on the bandwagon and posting unfunny old memes please. Y'all look foolish.

|Why do I insist in playing a game I know I will never win? (4) | Posted on July 7, 2012, 9:38 a.m.|
|A lot of people I know are like this, including me. Even though you might be getting really frustrated or know your team will lose, you keep playing on the offchance that you'll get some kind of internet redemption, like finally getting revenge on that pubstar heavy or managing to win a match despite all odds. It's really silly but I fall into that mindset sometimes and it's really unhealthy. It's probably smart to consciously force yourself to stop playing if you ever start to get mad.|

It's made some bad habits though and I'm trying to force myself to stop overextending in higher level environments.|

The grenade has a different hitbox than stickies/rockets.
The grenade hitbox (slightly bigger than the grenade) hit the edge of the ramp and bounced off.
proof? re-enact this on your own time with visible projectile hitboxes please.

It says right there that Projectiles use a large hitbox.
The latter video was originally used to demonstrate how the huntsman uses projectile hitboxes but it's still relevant.

You know hitboxes and models aren't always the game? Grenade hitbox is bigger than the model.
To my knowledge, projectiles don't have the large hitboxes. The player models do. From the wiki:
Projectiles, unlike hitscan bullets, do not travel instantaneously across the map but rather at a preset speed, differing depending on the projectile, and are often subject to engine physics. Projectiles use a large hitbox shared by all classes to judge contact, the same as that used by melee weapons, other players, and the environment.

|Any good tips for the new weapons? (7) | Posted on July 4, 2012, 8:26 p.m.|
|You're being really vague OP. General tips I guess:|
- Load at least two rockets when rounding a corner just in case somebody is there.
- The fire rate is actually a lot faster than you probably think. Mash M1 if you want but I recommend getting the rhythm of the fire rate. Hold M1 as if you were charging a rocket and let go as soon as the first rocket is loaded. It shouldn't take too long to get the rhythm down. You'll be maximizing fire rate without having to mash M1.
- Don't bother spamming at long ranges. It's unlikely that a single rocket will go where you want it to go.
- This weapon shines when spamming choke points or raining death from high ground. Take high ground as much as you can.
- This weapon works well with the Buff Banner (you'll be dealing a lot of damage with well placed barrages and minicrit damage amplifies it) or the Concheror (you heal off of damage that you deal which works well considering you're dishing a lot of damage out).
I have no idea what your actual problem is.
Don't use it, thing's useless.

Ah. Afterburn is definitely the biggest issue with it imo. The 135 crit isn't really that big of a problem imo, the 90 crit usually kills you anyway if you're running stock, 135 seems like overkill, tbqh.
Yeah that's very true, a crit flare is usually a death sentence. However I've had some scouts get away by tossing mad milk and I've done so myself because I always use bonk. As soon as I see a decent pyro whip out the flare gun while I'm on fire I switch to bonk ahead of time because I know I'll need to drink it asap. Sometimes there's a window where I can get away but I do tend to die too quickly to drink bonk.
Then again that argument is debunked on the grounds that a scout using the pocket pistol can't use either the mad milk or the bonk so whatever.

|Scout - Sun on a Stick. Looks terrible, stats are trash.|
Soldier - Liberty Launcher. Crutch weapon with no real upside.
Pyro - Phlogistinator. Nothing good about this weapon. It's terrible until you get enough fire damage from flare spam or stray spies, and then you use a safety net taunt followed by crits. The recent nerf has made it pretty crappy but its very design is still terrible.
Demoman - All melee weapons and shields.
Heavy - Too many trash weapons to count so I'll just say Brass Beast because it's the first that popped into my mind.
Engineer - Pomson 6000, followed by Wrangler. Both too powerful for their own good.
Medic - Amputator. Probably his only "bad" unlock.
Sniper - Tribalman's Shiv. Most of the Sniper's unlocks are pretty respectable and this thing is a bleed weapon so it loses (or wins I guess).
Spy - The Big Earner. Anybody that says "Conniver's Kunai" is very wrong.

Do you mean via Flamethrower DPS or do you mean via combos? Mathematically a 50% vulnerability with 140 HP is 95ish effective health vs. Fire (140/1.5 = 93.33) and it works out (stock takes 14 particles to deal 95 damage and stock with a 50% boost takes 14 particles to deal 140 damage).
I was referring to afterburn and the degreaser/flare weapon combo. Afterburn goes from 60 to 90 damage if it lasts the full length and a flare now deals 135 damage on crit, which is basically a guaranteed instakill.

it's problematic for playing Spy/Soda Popper Scout anyway.
I don't agree with the bad habit thing though. I don't play a lot of other FPS games but I never forget to reload when I play ones that require reloading. Most of the fps games I played came before tf2 so it's already embedded into my brain to reload and keep track of ammo. I was able to do it when I started playing tf2 and I still can
That's the only post in this entire topic that gave a legitimately good reason to have autoload turned off. That said the only reason I found good in this post is the FaN/Soda Popper and spy revolver problems, both of which are easily solved by making a bind that toggles autoreload so you can turn it off when playing spy/using those weapons. Bakedstuff uses the stock hud so it's not surprise that he literally manages to lose track of ammo. In fact I'm willing to bet that everybody in this topic who's said that autoreload makes them lose track of ammo uses the trashtastic stock hud
The rest of the bad posts in this topic either assume that people using autoreload do so because it's hard to remember to reload or just say "I never forget so obviously there's no negative repercussions of avoiding autoreload" which is wrong just btw

We've been over this, you are wrong
Really? Because I think your argument was that a pyro needs to know how other classes' projectiles work (namely soldier and demo), how his own tricks work (really basic and simple keystrokes that result in easy kills like "flarepunching" and "puff n sting"), and needs to have good reflexes for reflects as well as instincts for point blank reflects (aka knowing when a soldier or demo that he's attacking would press M1). So basically somebody who is good at soldier and demo, somebody with about 100 hours in pyro to effectively master the pyro's tricks (reflect rocketjumping arguably being the most difficult), and somebody who has naturally good reflexes.
Sounds like a good player who happens to be playing pyro to me.

Pyro already has the Reserve Shooters, which is scary in the hands of a good pyro.
1) The reserve shooter isn't scary.
2) There's no such thing as a good pyro. There are good players who happen to be playing pyro though.
|Teach me how to become better at this game. (6) | Posted on June 30, 2012, 9:40 a.m.|
|Alright, alright. A lot of weird questions.|
1) Airblast will: put out fire on friendly players, knock back enemies (very useful for delay enemy ubercharges), and reflect projectiles. The first two are extremely helpful to your team and easy to do. See teammate on fire, walk over and press Mouse 2 (alt fire). See enemy uber, sacrifice yourself to delay their progress. If you get a really good approach and flank them, then you may live and your overall success will be greater.
Airblasting projectiles is very helpful. General projectiles like rockets, grenades and sticky bombs can become your weapon to use against enemy soldiers and demomen who fire them at you (respectively). It'll take good timing and proper instincts to airblast projectiles well. You can also reflect the scout's Mad Milk, the sniper's Jarate, and the pyro's flares from his Flare Gun.
2) Don't use the Direct Hit if you're a newbie. Use the stock rocket launcher. Splash damage is invaluable, especially to a newbie soldier. The only unlock a newbie soldier should be using is a melee unlock like the Escape Plan, the Equalizer, or the Disciplinary Action. Search up those items on the Team Fortress 2 wiki. (I will link it later.)
3) Demo is one of the harder classes to play, especially for a newbie. Try something more basic and newbie friendly like Soldier, Heavy, or Medic.
4) The Scout is probably the toughest class to do well with in a largely populated public server. Leave it be for the time being.
5) If you think your game is running poorly, you may need an FPS config. These are configs that maximize performance while greatly reducing the game's aesthetic value. In simpler terms, your game will look ugly but run better.
- Read up on the tf2 wiki. There's a lot of reading to do but it helps to know the game if you want to play better. TF2 is a very hectic game for a newbie to get into and reading up on basic and advanced info well help.
- Learn to use the server browser. With it you can specify filters and maps to find the server that you want to play on. I recommend servers that only have 24 player slots. 32 player slots is extremely hectic and not what TF2 was balanced around; avoid it.
