DMC3 or GoW3 say hi
The god of war games are pretty lame, to be honest. I played 1 and 2. I had fun with them. There are likable things about them. But no matter how many weapons or combos you get, the combat is always pretty stagnant.
Have not played a DMC game, but will eventually.

The Ocean King dungeon is legitimately tedious as hell. But its not terrible. Its just tolerable. I'm on my second to last dealing with the dungeon, getting the last sea chart. I assume I'll be going back there again for the final boss battle. Annndddd. honestly I'm pretty tired of it. So I'm gonna play some scribblenaughts or something until I feel like it.
Or maybe buy Golden Eye for the wii. Off topic I know. Gonna see how active the online is.

|I was looking some up on amazon, just to dick around with a few of them, if I find a cheap copy. and I am only aware of Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles. But apparently there's like a few other games in the series of that genre.|
Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil
Then there's Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero.

|I'm finding the DS Legend of Zelda games to be vastly under-rated (25) | Posted on July 5, 2012, 10:47 a.m.|
|The entire game of Majoras Mask you're on a time limit.|
I cannot stand the game. But its more because I don't like playing it on a classic controller for the wii. Its just not comfortable, and the time limit, I think, adds nothing to the fun of the game. If not subtracting from it.
|I'm finding the DS Legend of Zelda games to be vastly under-rated (22) | Posted on July 4, 2012, 9:41 p.m.|
|Seems like a real love-or-hate game.|
I bought it with negative expectations, was prepared to return it if I didn't like it. But I really like it.
There are valid points given to dislike it, of course. But I'm content as hell with the game.
I don't think the dungeons look too terrible, with this being a 2007 DS game. All of the items you gain use the touch screen controls effectively. Just about every feature on the DS is used in the game.
Not imposing any opinions. Because its just a ****ing game. But I like it. Lots. I don't put it on the same level as Ocarina of Time or Skyward Sword though.
|I'm finding the DS Legend of Zelda games to be vastly under-rated (1) | Posted on July 3, 2012, 9:34 p.m.|
|Well, critically speaking, they might have received good reviews from magazines, I haven't looked into their gamerankings. But it seems like a lot of people I've talked to say they're the worst in the series.|
I've played Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword, and close to half of Twilight Princess...I haven't beaten TP yet, because I started a game on it right after I beat Skyward Sword. They're just too similar. It felt like I was just continuing my Skyward Sword game, so I just got really, really bored with the repetition. Will continue it though.
Also a few others. The original NES + the ambassador games and 4 swords.
I don't see Phantom Hourglass as the worst. at all. I think it utilizes ever feature the DS offers effectively. Also the theme, and graphics of the game are just charming as hell. For a handheld experience it holds up.
Maybe I'm mis-judging what the popular opinion of it is. Also I recognize that a lot of people who call it the "worst" in the series, are not actually calling them bad games in general.

Phantom Hourglass isn't very good. you're better off with Minish Cap or some other Zelda game
Yeah, or 3DS games. I'm intent on expanding my handheld collection, because I've neglected it for so many years. Literally missed out on the entire DS library.
I already have The Minish cap as an ambassador title.
I heard pretty negative things about the DS Zelda games, that they're "Somewhat mediocre but worth playing anyway" I'm buying them more for a collection's sake.

Its buy 2 get one free at gamestop, normally I don't take advantage of those deals, but if I'm buying used games that are 20 bucks each, its about the same as buying one retail game.

|I do not stand behind DLC for Nintendo's main franchises. (1) | Posted on June 20, 2012, 5:34 p.m.|
|i.e, downloading new worlds in mario, or dungeons in zelda. I think DLC just makes developers intentionally put less in the game, assuming stupid people will spend extra money later on for stuff they could have easily included during its launch.|
That kind of laziness doesn't need to find its way to nintendo games. I think their games should just be a complete package, that are quality enough that we would want to play through them multiple times anyway. I know a lot of people really like to give head to Nintendo and act like they're the biggest philanthropist in the industry, but I see them selling over charged DLC with very little content. Like $5 for a few new tracks on MK, or a new world or two in 3D land.
I'm totally fine with nintendo supporting third party games with DLC, at least then it would make them a viable option for a purchase.
I could be wrong... and really it doesn't make a difference to me, because if I don't like the DLC I simply won't buy it.

Never played a single pokemon game in my life before...at least nothing from the main RPG series. I did play Stadium for the N64. Pretty good memories with that, but I was 6 years old at the time, and I would just push whatever button I wanted and amuse myself with the **** the pokemon would do. Also I played Snapshot.
Anyway. What are the better games in the series for the DS or 3DS to own?

|Not like its a big deal, the DS isn't the prime system to play it on, but it seems like there have been DS version of the COD games since Modern Warfare.|
If I could find these DS versions for cheap, I'd definitely buy them for novelty's sake. Honestly I haven't been enthusiastically into gaming news for a long time and had no idea these games existed. Its like a port of the most popular shooter game in the western hemisphere that most people haven't played.
Or at least that's what I think. I'm not sure how popular they were among people.

It was fun for me when I was 13 - 15... but I saw that the depth of it is equivalent to a facebook app. Its all about unlocking skins and perks...you can die a boatload of times, but as long as you snag a few kills here and there through spawn killing you can grind you way up to the higher rank of circle jerks.

Then it says 'saving game', before the 'you died' screen. Once I load the game after that, I'm in the room right before you fight albus...with only 10 hearts instead of 90. Am i missing something? |(mild spoilers may ensue) |
I'm playing through the game now using a video walkthrough. I did try doing it on my own, because originally I was like "Walkthroughs are for ****ies" But now that I'm playing through it, and have played my way up to the Death Mountain part of the game...I don't see how any kids would have the patience for this game back in the 80s.
Although, because I grew up with an N64, I'm a different breed of gamer. With enough time and memorization this game is definitely doable for a child. With enough time that is.
I don't see how you are able to do it without the blue power ring, or the magic sword though, because the controls irritate the **** out of me, and I'd be dying far easier if I didn't have them. I'm playing it on a 3DS though, I think that aggravates it. It was more comfortable on the wii mote, and an original NES controller might be even better.
Also there's a lot of ambiguous block pushing in order to continue through dungeons. But I suppose after awhile you train yourself to check every block to see if one is push-able. And the dungeon involving you blowing your whistle at the lake in order to drain it, was something I probably wouldn't have tried without a walkthrough. But I gotta say, its fun. For a noob like me to just cheat my way through.

Martial arts because 1.) It gives you discipline. and 2.) Its a trade-able skill that can benefit you. Not to mention what's the point of getting strong if you're not going to use that strength for combat. What other natural purpose is there for strength, aside from lifting things. And you really don't need to get into good physical condition to lift objects.
If you're a freshmen in highschool, odds are you have time to invest in that.
