|Must be the specific Netflix App for PS3 then. Xbox doesn't have season menus anymore though. You click on the show and it starts the next show right away. You can of course go through and pick any episode you want from there. It won't skip show intros though, and once the credits roll it pops up the preview for the next episode like you said. But no countdown or anything, that sucks man

Hopefully Havok will leave though since he's an avenger. I'm not on the ever popular hate on Havok bandwagon that seems to be going around lately, I actually really like him, But this is Madrox's book and I was really pissed how he was just shoved into the book because Wolverine said so.

I'm going to take a different route and complain about team size. Unless they're rotating(a by and large bad idea with this concept) cast members, 6 heroes don't sell the concept. I respect Remender likes smaller teams than Bendis, but at least give us 8.
Its just the cover, not the whole team. The Avengers as a whole is gonna be a team of 18.

|Why aren't there Action Soap Operas???? (12) | Posted on July 1, 2012, 11:01 a.m.|
What exactly defines a "soap opera"? I've heard it said BSG was one at times, and that had plenty of action.
A soap opera, sometimes called "soap" for short, is an ongoing, episodic work of dramatic fiction presented in serial format on radio or as television programming. The name soap opera stems from the original dramatic serials broadcast on radio that had soap manufacturers, such as Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive and Lever Brothers, as sponsors and producers. These early radio series were broadcast in weekday daytime slots, usually five days a week, when most listeners would be housewives; thus the shows were aimed at and consumed by a predominantly female audience.
A crucial element that defines soap opera is the open-ended nature of the narrative, with stories spanning several episodes. The defining feature that makes a television program a soap opera, according to Albert Moran, is "that form of television that works with a continuous open narrative. Each episode ends with a promise that the storyline is to be continued in another episode".
Soap opera stories run concurrently, intersect and lead into further developments. An individual episode of a soap opera will generally switch between several different concurrent story threads that may at times interconnect and affect one another or may run entirely independent of each other. Each episode may feature some of the show's current storylines but not always all of them. Especially in daytime serials and those that are screened each weekday, there is some rotation of both storyline and actors so any given storyline or actor will appear in some but usually not all of a week's worth of episodes. Soap operas rarely bring all the current storylines to a conclusion at the same time. When one storyline ends there are several other story threads at differing stages of development. Soap opera episodes typically end on some sort of cliffhanger, and the Season Finale ends in the same way, only to be resolved when the show returns for the start of a new yearly broadcast.
Evening soap operas and those that screen at a rate of one episode per week are more likely to feature the entire cast in each episode, and to represent all current storylines in each episode. Evening soap operas and serials that run for only part of the year tend to bring things to a dramatic end-of-season cliffhanger.
So basically it sounds like they were some of the first serialized dramas.
|What's the point of Avengers Assemble? (6) | Posted on July 1, 2012, 10:55 a.m.|
|^Thats just a rumor right? I'd rather Bendis continue to F up the Avengers for another 5 years if we could get a new GOTG book with a GOOD writer.|
And the point of the book is to grab the movie audience. And to add to all the Avenger fans Bendis his been pissing off over the years, he now wants to anger all the cosmic marvel fans.
|Don't read Kick-Ass (12) | Posted on July 1, 2012, 10:49 a.m.|
|It was a good movie, it wasn't an "amazing film". I enjoyed the movie and both comic series. They're fun. And if kick ass was the worst thing you ever read you obviously haven't read many comic books. How does something go from worst ever to amazing simply because its in movie form? It essentially the same story with a few changes.

|Is the 4400 worth watching? (6) | Posted on June 26, 2012, 7:54 p.m.|
|An unresolved ending isn't the same thing as a cliffhanger. An unresolved ending I would see as being somewhat satisfied, and could imagine where the story could go from there, but it wouldn't make you angry that it wasn't finished. Like say Veronica Mars, Angel. Both had more story to tell obviously, but ended nicely.|
A cliffhanger for me would be a scene that could basically end with the words "to be continued" because it ends with some sort of shock and you have NO idea whats gonna happen next. I haven't seen 4400, so I don't know what happens. But that's just my opinion on the differences.
|Why does Broadcast TV have a summer drought for shows? (8) | Posted on June 26, 2012, 6:30 p.m.|
|Even though I'm glad there aren't any because I like to catch up on other shows, I'm kinda surprised they don't. With all the pilots being made with so few spots to pick them up for, and all these shows they cancel way too early you would think summer would be the perfect spot to try stuff out. The ratings standard could be dropped a bit, kind of like how Friday Night standards are lower than the rest of the week.|
I don't watch tv live much anymore, at least at home, so I don't know what they air during primetime. But maybe the networks too would rather have a "summer vacation" and just air re-runs,movies, or specials, and not have to worry about a whole new batch of shows. Which would be understandable.
|Top 10 Lamest Avengers Of All Time (9) | Posted on June 26, 2012, 3:54 p.m.|
|I guess I can agree with most of it. I like Starfox and US Agent. When Starfox was on the team it was one of the greatest eras of Avengers imo. US Agent is great, and I love Moon Knight but I agree that he shouldn't be an Avenger, especially the way he's being written these days. Old School MK was more of a fit when he had a short stint with the West Coast team.

|Ws getting the new TMNT idw TPB a better choice then walking dead double figure (2) | Posted on June 24, 2012, 9:29 a.m.|
|A book is better than a figure any day of the week for me. The new TMNT series is great imo. Some people love it and some people don't. You'll just have to decide for yourself. I think the people disappointed in it are the ones who read the original series, so it doesn't quite live up. A guy like me, my only exposure to tmnt was the 80's cartoon and movies when I was a kid, so I love this new comic.

|Why do you prefer the mechanical web shooters? (17) | Posted on June 23, 2012, 7:41 p.m.|
|It's simple really. Web shooters show Peter's true intelligence, and organic is just laziness. The organic webs just came from the movies because they didn't want to explain anything. Instead of showing Pete's true intellect they made it apart of the "bite". Now, to bring that into the comics is just BS, and one of the great things to come out of BND was the return of the web shooters.

|Does Psych ever get a...plot going? (Spoilers) (12) | Posted on June 22, 2012, 9:18 p.m.|
I'm on season 3 and I like the show a lot but I really wish they would do big plot lines every now and then. Just a really complex case that lasts 2-3 eps. Maybe just like once or twice a season. Would improve the show quite a bit imo.
Yea I agree. Watching procedurals by dvd or netflix or whatever is rough. Week to week as it airs is best, cause it doesn't become repetitive that way.
Harry's Law did this at the start of this season. The first case was a murder case that lasted 3 episodes. And I thought "All right, they're changing things up" Procedurals would be so much better with mini arcs. But on the 4th ep it went back to case of the week. Great show, but that mini arc made it so much better.
|Is it too late for me to drop the AvX tie-ins? (possible spoilers.) (4) | Posted on June 22, 2012, 9:12 p.m.|
|You said yourself the main event is boring you, so why should the tie ins matter? Tie Ins never matter anyway, they are usually never important to the story and only offer that books perspective of the event. The best one was Secret Avengers, but that space story is pretty much done now that the phoenix arrived.

|GRR Martin Talks 'Game Of Thrones,' 'The Winds Of Winter' (33) | Posted on June 19, 2012, 7:41 p.m.|
|Kirborg 0 posted...|
I'm unsure. Given the complex narrative structure, GoT won't easily attract newer audiences in its later seasons, meaning it will probably have to rely on its existing audience for its ratings (which will inevitably dwindle down as the series progresses). That plus the obviously big budget required makes it a vulnerable target for an eventual cancellation. My bet would be that it will last 4 or maybe 5 seasons at most before the hype dies down along with the majority of the viewers.
You don't think great shows catch new audiences well into the series? Just as an example: I started and got caught up with Dexter after Season 3, Breaking Bad after season 4, and Mad Men after season 4. Not to mention, the paperback release of Dance with Dragons could possibly attract some new viewers, and IF George can get Winds of Winter out by the 5th season or so that could also bring in new viewers.
I'm not saying it won't be tough, it will. But that is also why they stick with 10 episodes to keep it less expensive, and I could also see the actors taking pay cuts if necessary because they truly seem to love doing the show. And a show like this, why wouldn't you want to see it to the end.
